LA Congress- Friday Night
Friday night started with the LA Congress Salsa Competition and we had our very own Mary – Grace and Sujit Dey representing us and fighting for a spot to compete at the next World salsa Championships. After a typical LDA Style performance, extremely clean elegant and powerful, Sujit and Mary placed 2nd by .5 of a mark sending them directly through to the finals on Sunday Night …
Later that night we saw the first of the LDA teams performing. As a student’s team they were given the biggest compliment when they were placed in 2nd last position to perform in the line that had the cream of the crop of the Friday night performances showcasing teams from all over the world.
After an incredibly tight and synchronized performance and the support of the New Zealanders and Aussies in the crowed, the LDA Advanced team was given a standing ovation as they finished their performance in style.
LA Congress- Saturday Night
Saturday Night was proved to be another LDA night with our LDA Pro Team proving to be one of the best performance teams in the world receiving another standing ovation as they performed one of the most stylish and precise routines of the entire event. LA Congress – Sunday
Sunday witnessed the LDA “A Touch of Class” team performing in the afternoon session of the Congress and Mary and Sujit competing in the finals of the LA Congress Salsa Competition.
“A Touch of Class” was stylish, classy, elegant and very precise amazing synchronization for a team with 8 couples. The team managed to win the hearts and received a standing for their outstanding performance.
Sujit and Mary provided yet another flawless performance, but barley missed on taking the top spot to last years 4th placed couple at the world Salsa Championships by 1.5 marks, a remarkable achievement for a couple who have only recently teamed up and only performed together a handful of times.
LDA WOULD LIKE TO ACKNOWLADGE AND CONGRATULATE EVERYONE WHO DID SUCH A GREAT JOB REPRESENTING AUSTRALIA AND LDA AT THE WORLDS LARGEST SALSA CONGRESS…..
YOU HAVE TRULY MADE US ALL VERY PROUD OF YOU….
